I can’t leave multiple review for Dr. Dains, BUT, as you can see below I left a review two years ago. What happened this past week was that I thought I had this issue with one of my molars…so instead of seeing him first I went to an oral surgeon who subsequently scheduled me for surgery instead of diagnosing my problem properly. I went to Dr. Dains right after for a second opinion and after a series of x-rays and probing in my mouth he was able to determine that the cause of my pain wasn’t my molar, but instead another tooth that was infected and needed a root canal. He performed the procedure, extracted the bad parts of my tooth, gave me antibiotics and six hours later my pain subsided. Basically he identified that my pain wasn’t from anything other than an infection which the oral surgeon didn’t even bother to look into. So Dr. Dains was not only able to save my tooth but he also prevented me from spending a lot of money on surgery that I absolutely didn’t need to have., I can’t say enough just how much I trust and rely on Dr. Dains to take care of me, my family and I will always proselytize his abilities to anyone who is willing to listen. Thank you again Dr. Dains for taking care of me. Two Years Ago I’ve got nothing but kind words to say about Dr. Dains and the staff at Open Wide La Jolla. He’s professional, caring and his attention to detail is what one would expect from every dentist. I have always had anxiety when going to the dentist and quite frankly there was a period of time where I avoided going to the detriment of my own dental health. Dr. Dains however has been able to coax me from a place of fear and worry and instead relaxed that feeling with confidence and trust. He actually remembers everything we spoke about six months prior and he’s never trying to up sell some expensive procedure. I’m happy and lucky to have met him and I have the utmost confidence in Dr. Dains and know that he’s one of the best dentists I have encountered in my life.

Dr. Dains and staff took fantastic care of me. They squeezed me in quickly for last-minute tooth extraction and new crown before my trip overseas. As one who has had SO much dental work done since childhood in the 1950’s, I can honestly say this is the BEST dental experience I have ever had in my 74 years!!! Can’t recommend them highly enough. I use to go to another dentist where Anthony was at. I hate the dentist I think it’s the worse dr office to go to. But Anthony always made it a bit easier. When he told me he’s going to open wide La Jolla I was sad. But my new dentist had a new hygienist who told me I need Invisalign and all these other treatments done. The dentist said I had more cavities as well. So I made an appointment 6 months later after Anthony left with open wide. And best decision I made.
Dr Dains is awesome and super helpful. I actually didn’t need all the work the other dentist said I needed.
If you’re looking for a dentist Dr. Dains and Anthony are the way to go.
